Evaluation of individual medical services 2011
Project leaders: Claudia Wild
Project co-operation: LBI-HTA staff for individual reviews
Duration: January 2011 - April 2011
Suggested by: BMG
Publication of reports: on July, 15th 2011
Objective:
Each year, the Austrian Ministry of Health receives suggestions for numerous new medical interventions to get reimbursed. The aim of this project is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of interventions, suggested to be included into the MEL (German for: individual medical services) catalogue. Themes (interventions) were prioritized by the Ministry of Health and contracted out to the LBI-HTA.
Method:
The assessments are based on systematic reviews for each intervention and a summary of the scientific evidence according to the GRADE scheme. Since 2009 there is a cooperation with the german NUB process, which also appraises with the same method for both countries relevant new medical interventions at the same time.
